When I step onto a stage, it is not my primary intent to provide aesthetic pleasure and entertainment to an audience. It is to offer myself as a beacon of vulnerable strength through which others may be inspired to step onto their own "stages" in life from a place that is grounded, sacred, playful and humbly confident.
My task is to let go and open myself enough so that thinking mind gives way to subconscious, visceral emotion and movement.
The story I strive to tell is real, immediate, present, and authentic.
Each performance is different, existing on a spectrum from my self (individual / ego) to my not-self (deeper consciousness / oneness). Every time I perform I reveal my process and practice towards expressing my not-self.
My hope is to offer a gift of reflection to anyone open to receiving the energy that flows through me during this process.
When I perform I beg the question: What part of you do you see in me?
